One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is to laugh. Not just giggling or smiling, but to really laugh. The kind of laughter that makes your stomach hurt. The kind that makes you hit high notes and possibly snort. The kind that causes tears to fall and possibly a lack of oxygen to the brain, since you can’t breathe.
If I could laugh like this everyday, twice a day, I would do it in a heart beat. It’s so rejuvenating. It’s like instant therapy! I LOVE it! I enjoy finding the humor in every situation. I find it in the smallest of things and I often find myself walking around the house giggling at little scenarios that I make up. Think I’m nuts? I won’t argue that possibility, but just know that at least I’m having a good time!
Humor is my thing, it helps me cope with difficult situations and it goes hand in hand with sarcasm (another favorite). I’m convinced that I’m funny. There have been many instances where I am cracking myself up and Charley just sits there and stares at me. I don’t know how the man doesn’t laugh when I’m obviously hilarious! Frequently one can hear me saying to him, “Why are you not laughing? I’m funny!” Often, this results in him just saying, “Yep.” But, I’m convinced deep down that he’s laughing inside and he’s just too embarrassed about the possibility of snorting in front of me.
One of the best things about having kids, is that they think you’re funny no matter what! This is a serious boost for my comedic ego, let me tell you. If ever I get the blank stares from the husband, I just turn to the 4 year old or 4 month old twinlets and know that I won’t hear crickets from that audience. And it just so happens that I was definitely on top of my game this particular day.
As you can CLEARLY see from Exhibit A (below), I am a comedic genius.
Perhaps if this whole “Photography” thing doesn’t work out, I can make my way to LA based solely on my ability to make 4 month old’s laugh.
And just to show that I’m not favoring one twinlet over the other…here’s chubs…
Ok, now the rest of yall had some great ones too. If you’d like to see Rachael’s click here or here for Marcela’s. Everyone else’s view of humor is below :).
A. Picture name: Humor – Name: Heather Fiedler: My attempt at humor. I wish I had more time to make it better but this is what I have. The last picture is just for fun. Hope you like it!
B.Jordan Nuques, Martinez, GA: These three little monkeys were running around the front yard and I thought how funny it would be to take a pic of them in the classic “see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil” pose. They were too young to have heard of this, but they were willing to accomodate me. And Scarlett just may have added “SMELL no evil” to the pose. LOL!
C.Larissa Baggett, Houston, TX: This week’s photograph I knew would involve my son, because no one makes me laugh and smile like he does. However, I was struggling with how to capture it in a split second. I guess you are rubbing off on me Melissa, because I am keeping my camera close to me at home. Saturday, this is how I found him when I came into his room after asking him to get dressed. Mind you, this outfit comprised of layers- 2 pair of pants, 2 pair of underwear, and of course the shorts on his head. Later in the afternoon, at a birthday party, I discovered he had on two pairs of socks as well. Thanks for being you, Garren!
D. Stephanie Henry, Martinez, GA: Humor. I’m going with cute humor here. Matthew and I had two hours to spend together this morning waiting for the rest of the house to get up. I watched him follow our cat, Little K, around. He would get upset when she wouldn’t answer him, it was too cute. But he would get super excited when she would acknowledge him. It was great to sit back and watch. I went into the kitchen for a minute and came back to them spending a moment gazing out the window together.
Great stuff, everyone!!! Again, I have to say that if you get nothing else out of this project, I’m glad to see yall are carrying your cameras around to capture those little moments that would easily be forgotten throughout the days.
NEXT WEEK’S ASSIGNMENT:
Alrighty, your assignment for next week is…Water. Uh huh, pretty simple, but what can you do with it? I challenge you to go explore and again stretch yourself 🙂 As usual, please send me your image by Sunday for it to be included in my post. Happy shooting!
~Melissa
I can NOT get over how different they look. They both totally have the same features as you but they just look SO different!
Love the post 🙂
Love it! They’re so cute! And I would take making my kids laugh over my husband any day 🙂
They are so CUTE! I can just hear the giggles. I too find myself hilarious. I am glad I am not the only crazy one.
Here’s mine.

LOL! Well, at least the kids think you’re funny even if your comedic genius only lives in your head. 😉 Ha! See, I’m funny and you didn’t even realize it.
Look at Bradley and those yummy rolls! They’re both so cute.
