They had an idea to make downtown Leesville more enjoyable, but really, it started way before that. Jana and Leila are not only from Leesville, but they’ve even been friends since kindergarten. The two made it through their school years, went off to college, and beyond. However, home is truly where the heart is. Both wanted to move back to be closer to family and after that decision was made, they decided to do their part in making home an even better place to be.

Threads Boutique was created by these two lovely ladies in hopes to not only offer contemporary and beautiful clothing, shoes, and accessories, but also to offer something new to their hometown. Leila and Jana opened their store in downtown Leesville to try to bring people back to that area. They work with and support many local businesses in hopes  to grow downtown and also to just be genuinely nice!

One of the exciting things these ladies are up to is the Glamour Garden. Threads Boutique is working with the Main Street Board, the Lamar Salter Vo-Tech Carpentry Class, and countless community volunteers to build a community park in the alley beside the boutique. They hope to create this area as a gift to the community, a place for people to gather to sit and relax in between downtown walks, a place to read or meet as groups, and much more.

Below is the model of the Galmour Garden that will be created very soon.

The unveiling is scheduled for April 21, 2012 at 3pm. Please come out and support this local business as they along with many others support our community! Also, there is so much more to be done. If you’d like to contribute, donations are being accepted. Contact the store to find out the best way to give back whether it be a monetary donation, plants, seating, etc. You can follow them on Facebook to keep up with the upcoming events.

Following the unveiling, there will be a jewelry trunk show from 5-7pm, and the Glamour Garden unveiling will conclude with an art display by a local artist.

As if this isn’t enough, Threads also offers yoga and kickboxing classes! Exciting, right?! Be sure to stop in to pick up class schedules, and when you’re there you’ll want to check out the other goods they have to offer!

I couldn’t resist leaving without something for myself either 🙂

Have a great week!
