I met up with this fabulous family at Hodges Gardens in Florien. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot since it provides so much variety in backgrounds. Each time I visit I am in awe that this beautiful place exists in the middle of where we live! I’ve talked to so many people that don’t even know it exists. If you’ve never been, get it on your calendar!
As too many of us find out when we become parents, these tiny things we carefully swaddle, rock, and fuss over grow faster than we ever thought possible. These precious little beings suddenly become something so much better than we ever dreamed. It’s amazing how you can lay your little ones down for a nap and turn around to find them speaking their minds and building their own goals. I heard Jessica, the mother of these beautiful girls say, “I had to get some pictures taken before they went off to college.” That statement hit me with a bit of humor, but also a bit of sadness. It truly is bittersweet.
Despite their unwillingness to slow down and stay little for us, you do find small moments revealing the little children they once were. When they let their guards down and perhaps think no one is looking, you can often see that stage between growing up and remaining young. My goodness, are those few seconds precious.
Before you know it, you’ll be walking these girls down the aisle. You’ll keep your eyes forward trying not to cry until it’s time to pass that hand on. At that moment, you’ll see the incredible adventure you’ve had raising these children.
And in that brief moment, you’ll see those tiny ones you brought home for the first time and be thankful you were given the opportunity to be so very blessed.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your world.
